How Does This Affect You
Obviously with the take down Xtream Codes it’s said authorities now have access to all the user details (over 50 million). Xtream Codes allowed providers to sign users up, see ip addresses, see channel data etc. It is a possibility they have got all ip addresses used, but I’m guessing most of you were using a vpn. Although Anti-Piracy officials did say it’s not users which they are interested in pursuing, it’s the main sources and servers they want to hit. So in my opinion you don’t have anything to worry about in regards to user details being obtained.

A VPN Maybe Needed. Why?
You may have heard of Geo-Locked content. This means you can only watch content from selected locations. It is also recommended to avoid streams being blocked.
Example: If a channel on an app is only viewable in the USA, you won’t be able to access that channel from the UK.
A VPN Allows you to connect to any server around the world, allowing you to also access Geo-Locked content. It will also hide your ip address so nobody can see your location, and your internet provider can’t see what you’re watching. A VPN is not a must but it’s an option if you need to unlock Geo-Locked content or hide yourself online.

IMPORTANT: When installing third party apps to your device it’s recommended to use a VPN. This allows you to hide your IP Address so nobody can see what you are viewing. It also allows region locked content and more links to show. Visit the Best VPN for Android Devices. Official Site
