Get IPTV / M3U Files For Free
With Android Devices growing in popularity, more and more people are searching the web to get IPTV for Free. In today’s post we will quickly explain what IPTV & M3U files are, then where you can look and link them up to your device.
What is IPTV?
IPTV otherwise known as Internet Protocol Television. Instead of transmitting content via light pulses in fiber-optic cable or radio waves from a satellite, IPTV sends Live TV through your standard internet connection. You will find a lot of IPTV Services also use VOD (video on demand) which is a way of streaming Movies, TV Shows, Replays etc through the same IPTV Service.
In simple terms you don’t need a tv areal or satellite dish. You really only need an IPTV subscription an app to use it on and an internet connection. There are various different apps you can use to run your subscription/m3u on and we will talk about that shortly.
What is a M3U File?
An M3U file doesn’t really explain what it is very well and because of this users can get confused. M3U files are basically a url, the url will contain the iptv server address and also your username and password. This can be used to link your iptv subscription up to various apps, the most popular being Smart IPTV. But an M3U file is basically a url that allows you to connect the iptv to an app.
One thing to note is that it is very rare now that you see M3U files distributed. It’s very common now that services have apps with all the details built in, so you will simply receive a username and password.
Is IPTV illegal
IPTV is starting to be used by many different services, some legal some illegal. You will also notice the likes of Netflix, Amazon etc starting to adopt this. This can all depend on copyright laws in you country and the licenses the provider has to distribute the content. With broadcasters charging upward of £100pm for a tv package, people are starting to look for cheaper alternatives. This is where you could find a lot of services that don’t have the correct licenses, so then you would be streaming illegal content.
NOTE: Whenever watching or using services of this nature we strongly recommend using a vpn. You can read more about them HERE.
Where To Find Free IPTV Lists
When searching for Free IPTV you will more than likely come across them being in m3u format. So there are two ways you can search for free iptv online (both will be using Google search). First you can simply search for Free IPTV, and the second would be free m3u lists. Both searches will more than likely bring up websites that supply m3u url’s and you need to link them to watch them. When visiting a site you will pick what country or list you would like to try. Copy the url then paste to the app you want to watch on.
You can also try different searches and you will start to see the more popular sites. The lists will be updated quite regular so do be aware if it stops working, go and see if you can find a new list.
What apps can I use?
Smart IPTV
The most popular app is Smart IPTV. You get a 7 day free trial of the app then they request a one time fee of around $5 (Bare in mind the $5 is just for purchasing the app, Smart IPTV do not list any channels etc). This is the most simple app to link an m3u list to a guide. We will leave a video better explaining the setup process of Smart IPTV. Where in the video they enter an m3u url, that’s where you will enter your free m3u you found.
VLC Player
If you are wanting to watch on a PC or Laptop VLC makes it really easy. If you find the url you want to use and click it, it should download. Once downloaded simply drag the file into VLC Player and it will load up all the channels/content. Then you can double click on the different channels to open them and you’re set.
Paste Bin Files
The last kind of url you will find very common are pastebin. Example: pastebin.com/raw/324dfs2q. These M3U playlists work great with any IPTV streaming software that accepts either a URL or local M3U file such as Simple IPTV app. Simply copy and paste the contents of one or more of these playlists into a text file with the .m3u extension if your streaming app needs local access.
Stop Internet Providers Blocking Content
This past year internet service providers have start putting blocks on servers they find which are distributing IPTV illegally. You can bypass this block by using a vpn. So if you notice none of your live tv is working it’s worth try a vpn. We would suggest using premium services for safety but we also have a list of Free VPN‘s in the Download Section.
IMPORTANT: When installing third party apps to your device it’s recommended to use a VPN. This allows you to hide your IP Address so nobody can see what you are viewing. It also allows region locked content and more links to show. Visit the Best VPN for Android Devices. Official Site
